Inside the Role
Detroit Diesel is expanding and looking for dedicated individuals to join our growing workforce. As part of the Detroit Diesel Corporation team, you are responsible for performing manual labor on or supporting the production line.
Posting Information
We provide a scheduled posting end date to assist our candidates with their application planning. While this date reflects our latest plans, it is subject to change, and postings may be extended or removed earlier than expected.
We Take Care of Our Team
This position offers:
  • Starting at $17.50/hr, progressing through scheduled increases for 6 years to maximum rate. Current maximum Assembler rate is $36.83/hr.
  • Shift Premiums: Afternoon shift receives a 5% premium and Midnight shift receives a 10% premium
  • Paid Holidays: Average of 16 per year.

Benefits Include:
  • Profit Sharing: Eligibility for annual company profit sharing.
  • 401(k) Company Match: Company match of 75% on a maximum of 8% contribution.
  • 401(k) Defined Contribution: Company contribution currently $2.15/hr.
  • Vacation: 80-200 hours based on years of service (1 year to 20+ years).
  • Paid Absence Allowance (PAA): 56 hours per year; unused days earn $130/day bonus
  • Bereavement: Paid benefits provided.
  • Tuition Assistance: Programs available for eligible employees.
  • Medical & Dental: Low-cost HMO and PPO plans
  • Life Insurance: Company-provided life insurance benefits.
  • Supplemental Unemployment Benefits: Employees are eligible for SUB after 2 years of seniority

  • Comfortable in a dynamic environment where you will have to learn multiple jobs and tasks.

Required Skills & Experience:
  • High school diploma (or equivalent)
  • MUST be open to work any shift
  • Basic reading and math skills
  • Basic understanding of engine assembly, design, and function
  • Ability to work in a heavy manufacturing environment that requires the ability to lift, carry, pull and push moderate to heavy equipment, tools and parts

Preferred Skills & Experience:
  • Two years of manufacturing experience
  • Heavy duty truck assembly, automotive assembly or related experience
