Job description

Job Title: Auto Detailer
Department: Service / Reconditioning
Reports To: Detail Manager or Service Manager
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Clean, wash, wax, and polish exterior vehicle surfaces.
  • Vacuum, shampoo, and clean vehicle interiors, including carpets, upholstery, dashboards, and door panels.
  • Prepare new vehicles for showroom display and customer delivery.
  • Recondition pre-owned vehicles to meet dealership appearance standards.
  • Clean windows, mirrors, wheels, tires, and engine compartments as required.
  • Apply protective treatments, dressings, and coatings to interior and exterior surfaces.
  • Remove decals, adhesive residue, stains, odors, and minor cosmetic imperfections.
  • Inspect vehicles for cleanliness and presentation before delivery or display.
  • Transport vehicles safely throughout the dealership lot and service areas.
  • Maintain detailing equipment, supplies, and work areas in a clean and organized condition.
  • Follow all dealership safety policies and procedures.
  • Assist with lot presentation, transportation of vehicles to and from and special dealership events as needed.

Qualifications
  • Previous automotive detailing experience preferred but not required.
  • Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to operate detailing equipment, including buffers, extractors, pressure washers, and vacuums.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced dealership environment.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to safely enter, exit, and move vehicles throughout the dealership property.

Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of automotive appearance products and detailing techniques.
  • Experience with paint correction, buffing, and ceramic coatings.
  • Understanding of dealership vehicle delivery standards.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple vehicles and meet deadlines.
