Planes and GWS is seeking a highly driven Sales Manager to lead commercial market growth across the Cincinnati region. This senior leader will champion customer acquisition, drive market share expansion, and build a high-performance sales culture focused on winning brand-new business.


About the Role

The Sales Manager is responsible for developing multi-year local growth strategies, leading a new-business-focused sales team, and driving accountability for revenue and market share expansion. You will partner closely with branch leadership, vertical teams, and support functions to execute a coordinated “go-to-market” strategy and strengthen our competitive position across assigned markets.


What You’ll Do
  • Develop a deep understanding of company services, ideal customer profiles, and competitive landscape.
  • Build and execute multi-year growth strategies across assigned commercial segments (healthcare, corporate, education, government, logistics, etc.).
  • Recruit, lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing new business development team.
  • Create a winning, competitive culture centered on accountability, persistence, and strong sales fundamentals.
  • Establish and track monthly, quarterly, and annual targets for new business and revenue generation.
  • Promote brand awareness, strengthen market relationships, and leverage professional associations.
  • Ensure strong utilization of Salesforce for pipeline accuracy, target organization, and sales activity tracking.
  • Champion consistent, well-documented sales processes from prospecting through closing.
  • Coordinate commercial growth efforts with internal teams to optimize opportunities for cross-selling.
  • Manage budgets effectively, maintain a healthy pipeline, and deliver revenue aligned with company goals.

What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field (preferred).
  • 3–5 years of direct B2B business development/sales experience with strong results.
  • 3–5 years of progressive leadership experience managing outbound B2B new business development teams.
  • Experience in labor-based, service-oriented industries strongly preferred.
  • Commercial moving, office furniture, or logistics experience a plus.
  • Proven ability to lead, inspire, coach, and drive performance within sales teams.
  • Strong communicator with excellent organizational, financial, and problem-solving skills.
  • Skilled in developing value propositions, negotiation, and solutions-based selling.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools such as Salesforce and ZoomInfo.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel regularly to nearby markets.
