Position: Desktop Support Technician
Location: Salem, OR
Duration: 12/01/2025 – 05/29/2026

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Desktop Support Technician to provide comprehensive technical assistance to computer users across the state. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience supporting desktops in an enterprise environment and strong troubleshooting skills for both hardware and software issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver technical support via phone, remote access, and on-site visits to users statewide.

  • Log and track all service requests in the ticketing system, ensuring timely escalation and resolution.

  • Diagnose and resolve computer-related issues, including hardware failures, software conflicts, and performance problems.

  • Perform installations, configurations, upgrades, and repairs of desktops, peripherals, and related hardware.

  • Analyze system performance and take corrective actions to maintain optimal efficiency (e.g., running Defrag, ScanDisk, etc.).

  • Document troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and technical solutions in the knowledge base.

  • Communicate request status and solutions clearly to end users and stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with vendors for product support, updates, and optimization of existing systems.

  • Conduct hardware upgrades such as BIOS or ROM flashing, and ensure compatibility with software and network environments.

  • Create and maintain installation and configuration documentation for internal use.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience supporting desktops in an enterprise environment.

  • Strong knowledge of hardware troubleshooting, system performance analysis, and software installation/configuration.

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple requests, and provide excellent customer service.
