Position Summary

DAn Solutions is seeking an experienced Desktop Systems Engineer – Level 3 to provide senior-level engineering support for enterprise desktop systems and infrastructure. The successful candidate will analyze technical requirements, develop systems engineering solutions, and lead the planning, integration, implementation, and sustainment of desktop technologies in support of mission-critical government operations.

This position requires a highly skilled engineer capable of leading technical efforts, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring desktop environments remain secure, reliable, and aligned with customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze customer requirements, operational concepts, and system architectures to develop detailed technical solutions.
  • Design, engineer, implement, and maintain enterprise desktop systems and supporting infrastructure.
  • Lead systems engineering activities throughout the system lifecycle, from requirements analysis through implementation and operational support.
  • Develop and maintain system architecture documentation, engineering plans, integration plans, and testing documentation.
  • Provide technical leadership during system integration, deployment, upgrades, and technology refresh initiatives.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to enhance performance, reliability, and security.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues by identifying root causes and implementing long-term solutions.
  • Incorporate new technologies into existing operational environments while minimizing disruption to mission operations.
  • Coordinate engineering activities across multiple technical teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Review and approve engineering documentation to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with established standards.
  • Establish and maintain configuration management, interface documentation, and change management processes.
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to maintain schedule, budget, and technical performance.
  • Ensure engineering deliverables meet customer requirements and quality expectations.
  • Serve as the primary technical interface with government stakeholders on systems engineering matters.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technical staff while providing guidance across engineering teams.
  • Support operational activities as required to maintain mission continuity.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise desktop environments.
  • Strong knowledge of systems engineering principles and lifecycle management.
  • Experience developing technical documentation, engineering plans, and system architecture documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex technical problems and develop effective solutions.
  • Experience leading engineering projects and coordinating cross-functional technical teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with government customers, senior leadership, and technical personnel.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
Preferred Skills
  • Enterprise Windows desktop engineering and administration.
  • Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, and enterprise endpoint management.
  • Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM/MECM), Microsoft Intune, or equivalent endpoint management platforms.
  • Microsoft 365 administration and endpoint management.
  • Virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) technologies.
  • PowerShell scripting and automation.
  • Operating system deployment and image management.
  • Configuration management and change control processes.
  • Systems integration and testing.
  • Cybersecurity best practices for enterprise endpoint environments.
Certifications
  • DoD 8570 (or DoD 8140 equivalent) Information Assurance certification appropriate for the position.
  • Relevant Microsoft, VMware, or other industry-recognized hardware/software certifications are highly desirable.

Candidates must meet one of the following requirements:

  • Associate's Degree and 8 years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of relevant experience
  • Master's Degree and 4 years of relevant experience
  • PhD and 2 years of relevant experience
