We are seeking a skilled and motivated software developer with experience in C#, ASP.NET MVC, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SQL, database design, and reporting. In this position your work will directly support the Intelligence Division in managing, processing, and dissemination of Intel. You will help design, enhance, and maintain the software programs used to research active threats to the community, share vital Intel with partner agencies and review suspicious activity reported by the public.

Job Description
Duties assigned include participating in the full range of software development activities, including assisting with requirements gathering, analysis and definition, functional and technical design, coding and testing, consulting with users on application issues and providing user support.
Primary technologies used include C#.NET, ASP.NET MVC, HTML and JavaScript, SQL, and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
Examples of Work
• Programming, Testing, and Documentation
oDevelop MVC application back-end and supporting tasks and services using C#
oDevelop application front-end using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
oDevelop integrations to gather Intel from other State Patrol and partnered agency sources
oTest applications, lead users in testing, debug and resolve reported issues
oCreate technical documents and user manuals
• Database and Reporting
oCreate SQL database queries, views, functions, stored procedures, and scripts and revise existing database structures
oDevelop and maintain reports using relational data database querying techniques
• General
oKeep clear lines of communication with supervisor, peers, staff, and personnel within the State Patrol
oReview and incorporate best practices including object-oriented design, sensitive data security and State of Nebraska standards
Requirements / Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Experience, education, or training in coding computer applications.
Preferred Qualifications: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field such as computer science, computer engineering, or management information systems with experience in programming. Experience or training in designing web and desktop applications using C#.NET or VB.NET, ASP.NET, MVC, Microsoft SQL Server software development, database reporting, and object-oriented programming. Knowledge in SQL stored procedures and SQL Server Reporting Services. Skills in communication, practicing active listening, creating documentation and the ability to problem solve.

Ability to: communicate effectively to exchange factual information and research findings and conclusions; apply instructions pertinent to collection, analysis, interpretation and reporting of research data; identify trends and critical elements in program and demographic data; analyze and interpret numerical data, charts, and tables; formulate conclusions based on data analysis; summarized data into charts, graphs, tables, and narrative reports; calculate solutions to mathematical problems involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, powers and algebra; operate calculators and computers.
