They manage sprints and releases for Allied’s digital design system Affinity, while maintaining a high focus on accessibility. The Sr. UX Designer works closely with research and engineering supporting the alignment from initial findings through the build of the application. Senior designers’ mentor and educate other designers while working autonomously and pushing the boundaries for speed and quality for design outputs.User Interface Design (50%)* Design intuitive and user-friendly interfaces that meet our UX and product strategy requirements* Create wireframes and prototypes according to product needs* Ability to create layouts with a design system* Provide insights and incorporate user research into interface designs* Determine and create user flows through software products* Utilize responsive and atomic design to create scalable interfaces* Adopt user experience best practices to create modern and familiar interaction design* Have an iterative mindset and be open to feedback* Present designs and rationales to product teams, stakeholders, and executives* Knowledge of industry tools like Figma and Adobe* Problem-solving skills to determine solutions to user interface challenges* Ability to work both independently and in a team* Attention to detail and mastery of information design* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to communicate ideas to developers* Working with UX Engineers to see designs go through development* Create, deploy, and analyze quick iterative tests to validate wireframes and prototypes* Support UX Research by attending and/or conducting user research including interviews and testing* Participate in an/or facilitate Design Thinking workshops* Multi-tasking and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks* Be active in estimating work and help create road mapsLeads and Inspires Others (20%)* Lead and influence others (vertically and horizontally) without formal authority* Collaborate and communicate across the organization with business units, stakeholders, and product teams* Engage in challenging conversations with the right balance of candor and diplomacy* Chair a product governance steering committee of cross-departmental subject matter experts* Can demonstrate and educate UXDs on these skills* Ability to understand business metrics and translate company goals and objectives into digital experiences* Greater speed, quality, accuracy, more independence in executing UXD responsibilities* Maintain a competitive edge against competitor products and industry trends* Understand product specifications and user psychology and predict what might work for bothResearch & Testing (15%)* Create, deploy, and analyze quick iterative tests to validate wireframes and prototypes* Support UX Research by attending and/or conducting user research including interviews and testing* Participate in an/or facilitate Design Thinking workshops* Can demonstrate and educate UXDs on these skills* Greater speed, quality, accuracy, more independence in executing UXD responsibilitiesAffinity Governance (15%)* Creating the UI inventory for the design system* Manage the color, typographic, and icons for the design system* Create documentation around functionality for each component* Troubleshoot issues to help development grab elements if needed* Communicate the need and efficiency gains for using a design system* Review new components and update tools* Manage work sprints with Sr. UX Engineer* Run Sprint retrospectives* Releasing new design versions for other designers* Manage Jira tickets to make sure completion* Test and audit components in the design system## **Qualifications (Education, Experience, Certifications & KSA):*** Master’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred* 3 – 4 years of directly related work experience required*The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job.
