Job Summary:

The Principal E-Commerce Architect will lead the architecture and solutioning of the e-commerce platform, ensuring alignment with business strategies while adhering to cloud-first, mobile-first, and API-first principles.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Lead solutioning and architecture of the Michaels e-commerce platform in line with business strategies and roadmaps.
โ€ข Lead cloud solutioning, evaluation and integration of industry solutions with E-Commerce platform to align with overall business strategy.
โ€ข Architect E-Commerce systems with a cloud-first, mobile-first and API-first principles
โ€ข Design and document overall landscape of organizations e-commerce platform technology and business systems.
โ€ข Develop and maintain architectural standards, principles, and guidelines.
โ€ข Establish and enforce governance processes to ensure compliance with architectural standards.
โ€ข Review and approve project designs to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture.
โ€ข Provide guidance and mentorship to ensure the development of architectural expertise within the organization.
โ€ข Oversee project roadmaps and ensure timely completion of deliverables ensuring alignment with approved architecture.
โ€ข Evaluate emerging technologies and assess their potential impact on the organization, including conducting POC's and cost benefit analysis based on various use-cases.

โ€ข Participate in project estimations, explore innovative approaches and solutions.
โ€ข Serve as subject matter expert across businesses or technology groups where integrated solutions are required.
Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience
โ€ข Minimum Special Certifications or technical skills
โ€ข Extensive experience in architecting large enterprise systems with a strong focus on cloud architecture, integration, and e-commerce platforms.
โ€ข Proven experience in architecting and building solutions on major cloud platforms (Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure) using cloud-first principles.
โ€ข Ability to apply principles of application and infrastructure architectures, including the distinction between contextual, conceptual, logical, and physical layers.
โ€ข Knowledge of multiple technology domains including software development languages and platforms, infrastructure platforms, data management and database technologies, networking technologies, security frameworks and tools.
โ€ข Knowledge of software or hardware design, selection and deployment techniques and methodologies
โ€ข Awareness and understanding of application of architecture design methodologies and frameworks.
โ€ข Hands on working on Microservices, Event driven, APIs-first, Cloud native and Headless architecture using Java, Spring boot.
โ€ข Development experience with full stack development using UI technologies like React.
โ€ข Proficiency in API security frameworks, token management, and user access control.
โ€ข Solid foundation and understanding of relational and NoSQL database principles.
โ€ข Proven track record of executing on the full product lifecycle (inception through deprecation) to enable highly scalable solutions.
โ€ข 10+ years of related experience
โ€ข 5+ years of experience in a solution/technical architect role
โ€ข Expertise in specific domain of responsibility
โ€ข Ability to work in an Agile/Scrum environment.
โ€ข Previous experience in mentoring and leading engineering teams.
