Job description

Halff has a current opening for a CADD Designer in our Bentonville, AR location. This position is responsible in providing support in the advancement of Halff's technical abilities for land development and related discipline planning and design projects. A CADD Designer makes decisions regarding design suitability using knowledge of specified product materials, recognized industry standards, and construction practices. This requires thorough knowledge and accurate use of civil drafting techniques, computer operations, and civil engineering practices. This position recommends and implements design changes to resolve field problems and may require field verification work.
What you will do:
  • Work independently to crease base maps, drawings, and designs for land development projects, including Drawing setup for preliminary and construction plan sets, including sheet layout, setup of both model space and paper space, manage xrefs, incorporate redlines and designs provided by the Project Manager.
  • Create preliminary and construction plan sets, including horizontal control, grading and drainage, erosion control plans, utility and roadway profiles and cross-sections, topographic maps and design details and notes.
  • Responsible for assisting with engineering projects in the field and in the office. Project types may include, but are not limited to, roadway, highway, airport, utility, land development, landfill and site development.
  • Investigate field conditions and read and comprehend design drawings, construction specifications, codes and regulations, and technical information to develop drawings.
  • Adhere to project deadlines and keep supervising staff informed of any difficulties encountered on assignments.
  • Execute and adhere to quality assurance requirements.
  • Reproduce drawing and document packages to fulfill contractual obligations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you will need:
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in the civil engineering field.
  • Demonstrated experience with Civil3D, and other related design software applications required, GIS considered a plus.
  • Knowledge of municipal and state design standards and codes, including ADA compliance design standards.
  • Knowledge of the terminology, techniques and practices used in various types of construction relating to land development, including the ability to develop, read, and interpret engineering plans and specifications.
  • Must be able to collaborate remotely with colleagues in other offices.
  • Effectively communicate with others.
  • Musty be able to work independently and as a team member to problem solve and learn new technical skills.
  • Interest in experiencing a variety of assignments.
