Job description

Job title: Utility Design Coordinator

Duration: 6 months extendable

Location: Reno Nevada 89511

Position Summary

The Coordinator supports the Reliability Programs North team by managing the flow of design work between external engineering/design firms and internal engineering review processes. This role ensures that project documentation, scopes of work, and design packages move efficiently through all required steps, meet applicable standards, and are ready for bidding and execution.

Key Responsibilities

•              Coordinate external design firms: Serve as the primary point of contact for contracted designers and engineers.

•              Prepare scopes of work: Develop clear, complete, and accurate scopes for external design firms based on project requirements.

•              Assemble bid packages: Compile all necessary documentation for design solicitations in collaboration with Senior PMs and PMs.

•              Manage design workflow: Track and facilitate the movement of design packages through internal review, including DF engineering review, Maximo workflows, and AUD processes.

•              Review design drawings: Evaluate submitted drawings for accuracy, compliance with standards, and completeness; identify corrections and coordinate revisions with designers.

•              Ensure standards compliance: Maintain working knowledge of relevant design standards, specifications, and internal requirements.

•              Support project readiness: Assist PMs in preparing documentation required for project bidding and execution.

•              Maintain documentation: Organize, track, and archive design files, comments, revisions, and approvals.

•              Facilitate communication: Ensure timely information flow between internal engineering, external designers, and project management.

•              Monitor progress: Track deadlines, deliverables, and outstanding items to keep design work on schedule.

Required Knowledge & Skills

•              Ability to read and interpret Distribution Design drawings.

•              Familiarity with design standards for Distribution Design

•              Experience with workflow systems such as Maximo and AUD

•              Strong coordination and communication skills

•              Attention to detail and ability to identify design issues.

•              Organizational and documentation management skills
