Job description

Overview:     
ACS Professional Staffing seeks a Structural Engineer PE for a client providing full-service engineering and architectural design solutions. This role will lead structural design efforts from concept through construction, delivering constructable, code-compliant solutions across diverse building systems. The ideal candidate will coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, suppliers, and contractors to develop structural concepts, drawings, and specifications. This position will ensure quality standards are met, perform structural calculations using industry software, and support construction through contractor coordination and site response. This full-time position is located in Kalispell, MT.


Responsibilities:

  • Independently lead structural design staff throughout the project design and construction phases.
  • Identify and solve problems with a goal to provide appropriate and constructable solutions.
  • Work in a multi-discipline team environment to manage the development, design, and implementation of structural concepts, systems, drawings, and specifications.
  • Coordinate with external suppliers, internal design teams, and manufacturers.
  • Ensure structural designs meet company quality standards. 
  • Use various software packages to calculate gravity, lateral, and foundation loads. 
  • Respond to contractors during the construction. 


Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience post-graduation from an accredited university.
  • Structural Professional Engineer (PE) License (SE designation a plus, but not required).
  • Relevant design experience with building structural systems using wood, steel, concrete, and masonry.
  • A strong understanding of building codes and value engineering practices.
  • Organized and able to handle multiple tasks at a time.
  • Self-starter who can work independently and be part of a team.
  • Outstanding organization, attentiveness to detail and excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Work independently, managing priorities and providing mentorship to junior staff.
  • Ability to prioritize strategically and demonstrate flexibility to achieve long-range goals.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Bluebeam, Autodesk Revit, and industry standard structural design software. (Preferably – ENERCALC, RISA, Simpson, or Woodworks)
