Position Overview

A Senior Design Engineer is a proficient and imaginative professional at the forefront of transforming conceptual ideas into tangible, market-ready products. Armed with a deep understanding of engineering principles, these individuals utilize advanced computer-aided design (CAD) software to craft detailed plans and specifications. Design engineers thrive on innovation, applying their creativity and technical prowess to solve intricate problems in product development. They collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams, engaging with experts in manufacturing, research and development, and marketing to ensure that their designs align with business goals and market needs.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Expected to obtain a Class B Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement within 9 months.
  • Will learn to operate and demonstrate Pac-Mac machines/products within 3 months.
  • Will learn to program truck ECU/TCU within 3 months.
  • Will learn and use our AS400 manufacturing system within 3 months.
  • Will become proficient in the product cost and specifications in order to reconcile quote to build process.
  • Will become proficient in safe and effective product design based on government regulations and customer expectations.
  • Will become proficient in DOT laws as they pertain to truck operations within 3 months.
  • Will be trained in the design of the following for our waste/refuse products:
    •  Vacuum Pump
    • Jetter Pump
    • PTO
    • Hydraulic Systems
    • Pneumatic Systems
    • Truck specifications/modifications as they pertain to:
      • 40 Coded Federal Regulations
      • Customer’s Requirements
      • Tank Design

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • Proficient in solid modeling software; preferably Solid Works
  • Knowledge in hydraulic design and operations
  • Knowledge in 12 VOLT DC electrical systems design and operations
  • Knowledge in finite element analysis methodologies
  • Interest in metal fabrication

Skills

  • Advanced proficiency with CAD and SolidWorks (2D and 3D)
  • Ability to be creative
  • Resourceful problem solver 
  • Must be self-starter and motivated to bring projects to successful completion on time
  • Must be a team player, willing to pitch in and help other team members when needed
  • Excellent communication skills: written, verbal and ability to actively listen
  • Ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive professional attitude and work ethic
