Description:

Jackola Engineering & Architecture in Kalispell Montana is seeking a talented and experienced Civil Engineer with a PE License to join our dynamic team. 

You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary staff, clients, contractors, public agencies, and vendors to bring exceptional designs to life. From subdivision, storm/sewer drainage, water supply piping, grading and surface flow, erosion control, and pavement/concrete design systems, you'll engage in a wide range of impactful projects.

Site visits and client meetings may require occasional travel, ensuring seamless project execution and strong relationships. If you're ready to contribute your expertise to a collaborative, innovative environment, we’d love to hear from you.


Key Responsibilities  

  • Independently lead and mentor Civil design staff throughout the project design and construction phases.
  • Identify and solve problems with a goal to provide appropriate and constructable solutions.
  • Work in a multi-discipline team environment to manage the development, design, and implementation of civil and site design concepts, systems, drawings, and specifications.
  • Coordinate with public agencies, external suppliers, internal design teams, and manufacturers.
  • Understand government regulations and potential environmental hazards in our region including Land Use Applications and Stormwater Management Manual for local jurisdictions. 
  • Ensure complete civil designs meet both jurisdictional and company Quality standards. 
  • Use various software packages to evaluate and design site grading, sewer/stormwater/water supply systems, and related systems. 
  • Respond to contractors during the construction.
  • Engage in business development, helping create proposals and prepare for interviews, finding creative solutions to present to prospective clients and scheduling and breaking down construction costs.
Requirements:
  • Civil Professional Engineer (PE) License.
  • 7+ years relevant design experience with civil design.
  • A strong understanding of related design concepts and jurisdictional requirements.
  • Organized and able to handle multiple tasks at a time.
  • Self-starter who can work independently and be part of a team.
  • Outstanding organization, attentiveness to detail and excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Work independently, managing priorities and providing mentorship to junior staff.
  • Ability to prioritize strategically and demonstrate flexibility to achieve long-range goals.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Bluebeam, and Autodesk Civil 3D.
