Job description

BAYADA Hospice is currently seeking a Part- Time Hospice Volunteer Coordinator for a full-time position to support our home hospice office in Richmond. Candidate should live within commutable distance of the office location: Richmond,VA.

The position includes coordinating our Volunteer program in surrounding communities within the Richomond Area. The Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for managing the Volunteer services program and for leading office and field volunteers in providing quality office support services.

Responsibilities for a Hospice Volunteer Coordinator:

  • Plan and supervise delivery of all volunteer services
  • Partner with all office staff in coordinating and supervising administrative volunteer services
  • Assess and monitor a record-keeping system which includes services delivered and actual time involved
  • Recruit, interview and select volunteers
  • Design and supervise the orientation and training of volunteers
  • Facilitate and support volunteer retention activities
  • Monitor and evaluate volunteers’ performance
  • Assure volunteers’ compliance with BAYADA’s policies and procedures
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with Medicare Conditions of Participation (COPs)
  • Stay current with federal and state volunteer rules and regulations
  • Plan and coordinate volunteer support meetings
  • Together with entire office staff, answer phones, greet visitors and generate correspondence as necessary for
    office needs

Qualifications for a Hospice Volunteer Coordinator:

  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred
  • Provide excellent customer service and quality hospice care with focus on coordination and delivery of volunteer services
  • Demonstrated record of strong interpersonal skills, goal achievement, successfully taking on more responsibility with positive results and ambition to grow
  • Prior health care or home care experience is a plus
  • Ability to read, write and effectively communicate in English

Compensation:

  • Base Pay: $21-32/hour depending on qualifications
