Job Summary:

The CAD Technician Intern supports the design team by creating basic 2D and 3D drawings based on sketches and concepts. This role works closely with designers and drafters to help prepare CAD drawings and ensure project information is organized and accurate.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist in creating 2D and 3D drawings using CAD software with guidance from senior team members
  • Help update drawings based on feedback from the design team
  • Support the team in meeting project deadlines and communicate progress as needed
  • Learn basic residential construction methods and design standards
  • Review drawings for simple errors and make corrections with guidance
  • Assist in preparing presentation sheets and layouts
  • Organize and maintain project files and drawings
  • Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive team environment
  • Show willingness to learn and improve skills over time

Required Education:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Design, Architecture, Construction, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

Required Experience & Skills:

  • 0-1 years of experience in design, drafting, or CAD (internships or coursework acceptable)
  • Basic understanding of residential design or construction concepts
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar drafting software
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple small tasks with guidance
  • Willingness to ask questions and learn new tools and processes
