Design Tutors may work in academic institutions, online platforms, or as private mentors, helping learners build both creative and technical abilities needed for a successful design career.

Sessions often begin with reviewing students’ ongoing projects, followed by targeted feedback and demonstrations of specific design principles or software techniques. Tutors encourage open discussion, facilitate group critiques, and provide resources or assignments that challenge students to think critically and expand their design skills. This collaborative environment helps students build confidence while learning to incorporate feedback and refine their work.

To thrive as a Design Tutor, you need expertise in design principles, proficiency in relevant design software, and a background in art or design education. Familiarity with tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and digital illustration platforms is typically required.
