Job description

30th July, 2026
Our client, a well-established manufacturer of highly engineered products for the aerospace, defense, and industrial markets, is seeking a CAD Systems Manager to support the modernization of their engineering data and CAD environment.
In this role, you'll take ownership of the company's Autodesk Inventor and Vault environment while supporting a major engineering data cleanup and migration initiative. You'll use your mechanical design knowledge and CAD expertise to review, organize, and standardize legacy engineering part data, helping establish Autodesk Inventor Content Center as the company's source of truth for engineering components, libraries, and metadata.
This opportunity is ideal for someone with a background in mechanical design, CAD administration, or engineering technology who enjoys combining design knowledge with systems improvement. You'll work closely with engineering leadership to evaluate existing CAD models, assemblies, and part libraries, identify inconsistencies, improve standards, and develop processes that make engineering workflows more efficient and scalable.
The right candidate will enjoy solving complex problems, understanding how products are designed and manufactured, and bringing structure to engineering data. Experience working with standard components, hardware libraries, part catalogs, McMaster-Carr, or similar engineering resources will be highly valuable in this role.
If you're looking to join a stable organization where you can make a direct impact, this position offers the opportunity to take ownership of critical CAD systems, improve engineering processes, and help shape the future of the company's digital engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Vault Professional, and engineering CAD systems while becoming a key resource for CAD standards and engineering data management
  • Support the cleanup, organization, and migration of legacy engineering data into a modern CAD and ERP environment
  • Review engineering part databases, spreadsheets, and exported data to identify duplicate parts, outdated information, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement
  • Establish Autodesk Inventor Content Center as the master engineering catalog for standard components and purchased parts
  • Evaluate existing 3D models, assemblies, and engineering documentation to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with engineering standards
  • Use mechanical design knowledge to review components, assemblies, hardware, and purchased parts within engineering libraries
  • Support the creation and maintenance of standard component libraries, templates, and reusable engineering content
  • Develop and maintain CAD standards, metadata requirements, naming conventions, and engineering documentation practices
  • Partner with engineers and designers to understand workflows and develop practical solutions that improve efficiency
  • Create simple automation tools and scripts using Python, VBA, SQL, PowerShell, or similar technologies to streamline repetitive tasks
  • Assist with CAD modeling, drawing updates, part creation, and engineering documentation as needed
  • Document processes, develop standards, and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support future ERP integration efforts by ensuring engineering data is accurate, organized, and properly structured

Requirements
  • Hands-on experience with Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Vault, or similar CAD/PDM systems
  • Mechanical design experience with the ability to understand components, standard parts, assemblies, and how products are designed and manufactured
  • Strong understanding of 3D modeling, assemblies, and engineering drawings
  • Experience managing CAD data, part libraries, engineering documentation, metadata, or similar engineering systems
  • Basic scripting or automation experience using Python, VBA, SQL, PowerShell, or similar technologies
  • Experience organizing and improving complex engineering data with the ability to approach cleanup and migration projects in a structured, methodical way
  • Manufacturing, custom equipment, machining, or industrial engineering experience preferred

Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience.
Location: Southampton, PA
Schedule: Monday-Friday, onsite. Flexible 8-hour schedule.
Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), Life & AD&D, Short- and Long-Term Disability, Paid Time Off (PTO), and opportunities for career growth.
