Job description

Pool & Landscape Designer / Estimator

Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Pool & Landscape Designer/Estimator to join our growing team. This position is responsible for meeting with clients, designing custom outdoor living spaces, preparing accurate estimates and proposals, and working closely with the construction team to ensure projects are delivered successfully.

The ideal candidate has experience in swimming pools, landscaping, hardscaping, outdoor living construction, and customer service, with strong design and estimating abilities.

Responsibilities

Sales & Client Relations

  • Meet with residential and commercial clients to understand project goals and budgets.

  • Conduct on-site consultations and property measurements.

  • Develop creative outdoor living solutions that meet client expectations.

  • Present designs, material selections, and project proposals.

  • Follow up with leads and assist in closing sales.

Design

  • Design custom:

    • Swimming pools & spas

    • Outdoor kitchens

    • Patios

    • Pergolas

    • Fire features

    • Landscaping

    • Irrigation

    • Synthetic turf

    • Landscape lighting

    • Drainage systems

  • Prepare conceptual layouts and construction drawings.

  • Coordinate engineering when required.

  • Assist clients with selecting materials, finishes, and colors.

Estimating

  • Perform quantity takeoffs from plans and site visits.

  • Prepare accurate material, labor, subcontractor, and equipment estimates.

  • Obtain vendor and subcontractor pricing.

  • Build professional proposals using estimating software.

  • Review project profitability before submission.

  • Track estimate accuracy and improve estimating standards.

Project Coordination

  • Participate in project handoff meetings.

  • Review plans with project managers and field crews.

  • Assist with change orders and pricing revisions.

  • Visit job sites during construction as needed.

  • Help resolve design and construction issues.

Administrative

  • Maintain CRM and project documentation.

  • Update estimating databases and pricing.

  • Coordinate permit requirements and engineering documents when necessary.

  • Assist with scheduling and production planning.

Qualifications

Required

  • 3+ years of experience in pool, landscape, or outdoor living construction.

  • Experience estimating construction projects.

  • Ability to read construction plans and specifications.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred

  • Experience designing pools and outdoor living projects.

  • Knowledge of construction methods and sequencing.

  • Familiarity with irrigation and drainage systems.

  • Understanding of grading and elevations.

  • Experience with residential permitting processes.
