Primary Responsibilities
HDR is currently in need of a Project Manager to advance the planning, design and construction administration of water and wastewater facilities projects in Ohio. It is envisioned this candidate would have a mix of client development, project management, and project delivery responsibilities.
Candidates for this position should have experience directing project staff and will lead water/wastewater projects as a project manager. Other duties will include providing project and task management; conducting difficult to complex process engineering for both projects and proposals; collecting, assimilating, and presenting data in reports, memos and public forums; leading production of design calculations and technical reports; and leading preparation of engineering plans and specifications for design of water and wastewater treatment facilities and/or conveyance/distribution systems. Should possess strong oral and written communication and listening skills including good leadership and organizational skills. Position will work closely with the local team to deliver the growing Water Business Group business within Ohio.
In the role of Water/Wastewater Project Manager, we will count on you to:
  • Plan and manage all aspects of small to medium single-discipline planning, as well as large, complex multi-disciplinary projects
  • Independently coordinate work of engineers and balance planning/design team throughout entire project lifespan
  • Establish client relations and be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings
  • Participate in reviews with various governing agencies
  • Conduct work sessions for design development and contract document in conjunction with other staff
  • Coordinate workload throughout entire project development, and ensure completion of documents on schedule
  • Track financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust work effort with team to ensure that work is completed within parameters of agreed-to schedule
  • Work with Business/Accounting Manager or Project Controller and Business Group Manager for project reviews
  • Perform technical analyses and report preparation
  • Lead client project and technical meetings and/or workshops
  • Provide leadership and mentoring for water/wastewater engineers
  • Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications
  • B.S. in Civil, Environmental, Chemical Engineering, or other Water/Wastewater Engineering related field; Master's preferred in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • Minimum 11 years related experience
  • A minimum of 5 years project management experience
  • Licensed professional engineer in the State of Ohio or have the ability to obtain license within 1 year.
  • Experience in collaborative delivery methods for water/wastewater treatment facilities and pump station projects
  • Experience with Microsoft Project or Primavera project management software
  • Revit, MicroStation and/or AutoCAD experience
  • Preference is given to local candidate
