Torch Technologies is seeking a Software Design Engineer to join a team to assist the 39th Electronic Warfare Squadron (EWS), 350th Spectrum Warfare Wing (350 SWW), at Eglin AFB, Florida. The 350 SWW is the technical focal point for all electronic warfare (EW) support of warfighter systems for the Combat Air Forces (CAF). The mission of the 350 SWW is to develop and test mission data (MD) to defeat enemy radar and infrared guided missile systems, thus enhancing aircrew and aircraft survivability in combat. This mission includes operational EW testing, MD development/validation/verification, force development evaluation execution and facilitating foreign materiel exploitation.

As aSoftware Design Engineer, your duties will include the following, but are not limited to:

  • Design, develop, and maintain, Windows & client/server applications to support MD development and testing for EW system programming/reprogramming activities

  • Develop applications using programming languages like C# (Object-Oriented Programming), Python, MATLAB, SQL Server, Sharepoint & ASP.net

  • Execute development and maintenance of computer applications that support Electronic Warfare (EW) systems that are used by engineers to review, modify, and export data in various formats

  • Participate in the requirements definition, performance specifications, design, analysis, simulation, test and evaluation of EW integrated systems and equipment

  • Identify issues and developing solutions to hardware and software issues

  • Applying engineering, analytical, and technical disciplines and skills to establish and maintain long-term engineering, operation, and maintenance support for the in-service system capabilities

  • Develop Application Programming Interface (API) to simplify design, administration and use of new tools and products, or manage existing ones

  • Advise and assist with the development of tools to support the reduction, filtering, conversion to analysis format, and analysis of data involving EW systems.

RequiredQualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical/engineering discipline or equivalent experience. 6 years' of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirement.

  • At least 3 years' of experience in an engineering capacity,

  • Experience coding, debugging and maintaining applications in aforementioned program languages

  • Analyze problems at a fundamental level to design flexible solutions to optimize new techniques

  • Understand software development lifecycle and knowledge of Risk Management Framework

  • Can optimize SQL stored procedures/functions

  • Technical knowledge and good commenting background for code deployment documentation

  • Communication to interface with the customers in gathering requirements, diagnosing and resolving issues

  • Detailed oriented, focus, creativity to tackle customer pain points efficiently and generate scalable solutions

  • Ability to obtain andmaintainaTop Secret DoW Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A current active Top Secret or Secret security clearance is highly desired,

  • 8140 intermediate qualified is strongly preferred,

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering is highly desired

  • Previous experience in RF integration, EM spectrum management, antenna design, and digital signal processing is desired.
