Design Operations Coordinator information

What is a design operations coordinator?

Design Operations Coordinators are professionals who support and streamline the processes within design teams to maximize efficiency and collaboration. They manage workflows, facilitate communication between team members and stakeholders, and help implement tools and best practices. Their role often includes resource planning, project tracking, and removing operational barriers so designers can focus on creative work. Ultimately, they play a key part in ensuring design projects are delivered on time and meet quality standards.

How does a design operations coordinator typically collaborate with design, product, and engineering teams?

A Design Operations Coordinator acts as a bridge between design, product, and engineering teams to ensure projects run smoothly and efficiently. They facilitate communication, manage timelines, and coordinate resources, helping to remove roadblocks and keep everyone aligned on goals. This role often involves organizing meetings, tracking deliverables, and implementing tools or processes that streamline collaboration. By supporting cross-functional teamwork, Design Operations Coordinators enable designers to focus on creativity while ensuring project milestones are met.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a design operations coordinator, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Design Operations Coordinator, you need strong organizational abilities, project management experience, and a background in design or creative workflows, often supported by a relevant degree. Familiarity with project management tools (like Asana or Jira), design collaboration platforms (such as Figma or Adobe Creative Cloud), and process documentation systems is typically required. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills help you facilitate smooth coordination between design teams and other departments. These competencies are crucial for ensuring efficient project delivery, maintaining workflow consistency, and supporting a high-performing design environment.

Job description

We believe in empowering employees to pursue their strengths in order to find fulfillment and purpose in their individual roles. We're also passionate about helping small businesses and it shows. We move fast, work hard, celebrate each other's successes, and leave our egos at the door. You won't find a better crew to spend your days with to learn and grow. Our five core values guide everything we do, and we look for teammates who embody the traits that make those values come to life:

  • Creating Magic You have theย persistenceย andย gritย to turn ambitious ideas into remarkable outcomes.

Here, you won't just do a job, you'll help create meaningful experiences, solve real problems, and shape the future of our company.

Our Operations Coordinator will support the day-to-day IT and Facilities operations and tools designed to create magic internally.ย  You proactively seek opportunities to solve problems and help us efficiently scale our rapidly growing team. Responsibilities:

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Energetic and entrepreneurial personality with a strong internal drive to succeed
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize work independently
  • Available to work on-site in Toronto, ON, Canada - this is not a remote position
