We are looking for an Acoustic Design Manager to join our Team! As an integral part of the Group Property Development team, you will be responsible for leading the design of acoustic solutions within the US for both standard and non-standard developments. 


1. Feasibility, Assessment & Surveys

  • Support and inform US feasibility assessments through acoustic risk reviews and profiling of new and existing PureGym      properties. 
  • Instruct appropriate, US site-specific acoustic surveys via a framework of external acoustic consultants. 
  • Review US acoustic consultants' recommendations and designs for compliance with PureGym specifications, best value and fit.

2. Consultant & Supplier Management 

  • Manage US framework consultants and key product suppliers, ensuring services and materials delivered align with service level agreements. 
  • When required, monitor, periodically review and rank the performance of US framework consultants and key material      suppliers. 
  • Support robust procurement processes, including managing and renewing existing agreements, and selecting alternative or additional suppliers.

3. Acoustic Design & Project Delivery 

  • Project-manage the US design process for bespoke and novel acoustic solutions for challenging, non-standard gym      developments, working alongside the Senior Acoustic Design Manager and internal/external designers. 
  • Balance risk, cost and time considerations to make informed commercial recommendations on US acoustic design, including      opportunities to limit or exclude mitigation. 
  • Input into cost management of US acoustic solutions, including creating and updating mitigation case studies.

4. Standards, Research & Continuous Improvement 

  • Develop a working document of all relevant US acoustic standards for each State, City or Township as needed. 
  • Continuously research and develop improved noise mitigation solutions in the US and enhance optionality within the      development process.

5. Existing Estate Support & Complaint Management  

  • With support from the Senior Acoustic Design Manager, investigate, advise and report on noise/vibration complaints      affecting existing US PureGym properties, engaging relevant internal and external stakeholders.

6. Professional Development & Representation   

  • Ensure personal development plans are in place, relevant, and actively managed to support continuing professional      development. 
  • Positively represent the Development function internally and act as an ambassador for PureGym externally.

Technical & Industry Knowledge

  • Strong project management skills within property development and acoustics. 
  • Understanding (or strong interest in developing understanding) of acoustic risks and solutions in gym environments. 
  • Able to read and interpret technical drawings, specs and professional documents. 
  • Ideally experienced in gym operations or high-volume, low-price fitness environments. 
  • Degree-educated in a relevant field; ASA membership desirable.

Experience & Stakeholder Management 

  • Experience in large-scale, fast-paced, multi-site developments. 
  • Comfortable managing multiple third-party stakeholders and suppliers. 
  • Ideally familiar with customer-facing industries (leisure, hospitality, retail). 
  • Able to travel nationally across the US as needed.
  • Able to make clear, evidence-based recommendations quickly.
