Job Summary:

The Senior Design Engineer will be responsible for leading program-level designs and prototype fabrications for complex enclosure solutions that produce the required performance and features to provide greater value for our customers. This position will require primarily job-centered decision-making andclose collaboration with others involved in the process. The Senior Design Engineer will manage multiple projects.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Lead projects from concept through to launch.

  • Draw and design package preparation and release.

  • Develop requirements and analyze product design data to determine conformance to established design selection criteria, standardized parts and equipment use, and design-to-cost practices.

  • Maintain and upgrade existing products.

  • Establish test plans and execute 3rd party certifications.

  • Lead the development and testing of prototypes for new product ideas and create product specifications.

  • Create and maintain project development plans and create and execute Engineering Change Notices (ECNs)

  • Lead cross-functional teams to design, develop, test, and redesign existing products.

  • Generate and release full bills of material for manufacturing.

  • Identify non-conformances and root causes to initiate and implement solutions.

  • Assist in other duties as required.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Education and Experience:

  • A bachelor's degree, preferably in General or Mechanical Engineering, is required.

  • A master's in mechanical engineering is preferred.

  • At least 5 years of experience in product development is required in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience with specific material is required.

  • Experience with additional material is desired.

  • At least 5 years of CREO/Windchill experience is desired.

  • Experience with another 3D CAD system will be considered.

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification is desired.

  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment is desired.

  • Knowledge of MS Project and Visio desired.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

  • Familiarity with appliance regulatory and testing agencies such as UL, CEC, ASTM, IEC, CE, and RoHS a plus.

The pay range for this position is $100,000 - $130,000 annually. The base pay offered may vary depending on the position offered, geographic location, education, training, and/or experience.
