Job description

Overview

We are seeking a highly-motivated Civil Engineering Materials Lab Intern to join our Materials Testing Lab for Summer 2026 in our Totowa, NJ office.

Responsibilities
  • Our interns will assist technical staff on day-to-day projects.
  • Prepare reports and document project activities and data.
  • Prepare analyses from collected data.
  • Set up and help maintain project files and records.
  • Assist with laboratory testing, such as soil compaction, water content, particle size, and chemical testing.
  • In addition to the work-centered program, we also offer robust internship programming, which includes opportunities to work with other interns, learn about other areas of the business, and develop valuable communication skills and networking connections.

Qualifications
  • Associates Degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Constructruction Technology or pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, or a related field.
  • Interest in Geotechnical/Concrete/Asphalt Testing.
  • Must have reliable transportation to the office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Possess solid problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to work in a high-paced environment.
  • Strong computer literacy, to include MS Office.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.

Compensation: $16.00 to $19.00 per hour (depending on qualifications)
