The Norfolk Admirals is an ECHL professional hockey organization dedicated to creating unforgettable experiences for fans both in the arena and online. Through engaging content, innovative storytelling, and authentic fan interactions, we strive to grow our brand and strengthen our connection with hockey fans across all digital platforms.
We are seeking a creative, energetic, and hockey-savvy Social Media Content Creator Intern to join our Marketing team. This internship provides hands-on experience creating content for a professional sports organization while helping shape the team's online presence.
Position Summary
The Social Media Content Creator Intern will assist in producing engaging content across the organization's social media platforms, including Instagram, X, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn. This role is ideal for a creative storyteller who understands current social media trends, enjoys creating video content, and has a passion for sports and fan engagement.
Responsibilities
  • Create and publish engaging social media content, including graphics, photos, videos, reels, stories, and short-form content.
  • Assist with content coverage during games, practices, community events, and team appearances.
  • Capture behind-the-scenes footage and player-focused content for social media channels.
  • Monitor social media trends and identify opportunities for audience engagement.
  • Assist in developing content calendars and campaign concepts.
  • Write social media copy that aligns with the team's voice and brand standards.
  • Support live game-day social media coverage and fan interaction initiatives.
  • Edit video content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and other digital platforms.

Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Journalism, Sports Management, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of major social media platforms and current digital trends.
  • Experience creating content for Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, and YouTube.
  • Proficiency with content creation tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, CapCut, Premiere Pro, or similar software.
  • Strong writing, storytelling, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and select game days as needed.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
