The Opportunity:

Are you a student looking for an exciting opportunity that is full of meaningful, diverse, and ambitious assignments working alongside industry leading professionals? As a Calgary-based Process Engineering Student, you have an opportunity to work with a dynamic group of professionals in the Facilities, Operations and Production teams supporting the design and construction of new oil and gas facilities while optimizing existing facilities. Working closely with more engineers, you'll gain exposure to identifying opportunities for enhancing production, reducing costs, improving reliability, debottlenecking, greenhouse gas reductions, supporting management of change and implementing new technology.

  • Location: Calgary, AB
  • Shift schedule: 5 days on, 2 days off, 8-hour shifts (Monday - Friday)
  • Term lengths:  8 months
  • Term starts: May 2027
  • Safety sensitive position: Yes

Key Accountabilities:

  • Apply engineering principles to develop solutions for the Conventional business unit
  • Provide technical support for the senior engineers within Facilities, Production and Operations teams including: 
    • Process scoping
      • Equipment sizing and rating
      • Piping and pipeline hydraulic evaluations.
      • Safety system design including flares systems and relief devices
      • Preparation and review of process deliverables, including PFDs and P&IDs
      • Process simulations
  • Support process safety initiatives
  • Assist and participate in Process review activities, including PHA reviews 
  • Participate in team meetings to ensure alignment of goals and priorities as well as liaise with the area Facilities Engineers and Operations teams

What You Bring to The Role:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Chemical Engineering or be within one year of your graduation.
  • Possess a valid Class 5 Alberta driver's license or an equivalent out of province license
