Wieland is hiring a Tooling & Design Engineer. The Tooling & Design Engineer will be responsible to meet Forgeworks’ customers demand by developing products and designing tooling necessary to produce all Forgeworks products. Support the manufacturing operations with tooling inventory management, supplier development and technical support of the sales and business development processes. This role is located in Montpelier, OH and will be fully on-site.

Responsibilities

Tooling & Design Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all aspects of the design, development and troubleshooting of all forged and machined products and associated tooling.
  • Inventory control, budgeting and sourcing of all forging and machining tooling.
  • Engineering support and tool cost estimating of new products for the Sales department
  • Collaborate with Quality and Process Engineering on quality improvement and cost reduction efforts related to forging tooling and processes.

Tooling & Design Engineer Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent engineering experience
  • 5 years of similar tool design experience
  • Purchasing and vendor management experience required
  • Self-starter with strong interpersonal skills and collaborative work style that promotes a cross-functional unified approach to process control and improvements
  • Demonstrated proficiency in computer aided design software (AutoCAD & SolidWorks). Ability to apply finite element analysis and three-dimensional design computer modeling is preferred.
