Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Storage Design Engineer to support a long-term enterprise infrastructure program. This individual will serve as a senior technical resource responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing large-scale storage environments supporting mission-critical systems. This position is 100% onsite in Quantico, VA. Responsibilities of the Senior Storage Design Engineer: Design, implement, and administer enterprise storage infrastructure supporting large-scale government environments Perform storage capacity planning, performance analysis, workload forecasting, and utilization reporting Design and integrate SAN, NAS, and virtualization storage solutions utilizing NetApp technologies Support high availability and disaster recovery (HA/DR) architectures across enterprise systems Configure and manage storage technologies including iSCSI, NFS, CIFS, LUNs, FlexVols, and Fiber Channel environments Execute storage hardware, firmware, and software upgrades while evaluating performance impacts Develop storage designs supporting VMware, Hyper-V, Microsoft DFS, Exchange, and SQL environments Configure and maintain SnapMirror, SnapCenter, snapshots, replication, and data protection solutions Perform storage security management, auditing, and compliance activities Support disaster recovery planning, testing, and operational readiness initiatives Develop technical documentation, capacity reports, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures Collaborate with engineering, virtualization, network, and systems administration teams to support enterprise infrastructure initiatives Qualifications of the Senior Storage Design Engineer: 10+ years of experience in storage engineering, architecture, capacity planning, and performance management Extensive experience with NetApp Data ONTAP 8.x/9.x environments Strong knowledge of SAN/NAS technologies including iSCSI, NFS, CIFS, Fiber Channel, LUNs, and FlexVols Experience supporting AFF storage platforms including A70, A250, A300, and A700 series Hands-on experience with SnapCenter, SnapMirror, Active IQ, System Manager, and ONTAP CLI Experience designing and supporting disaster recovery and high availability storage solutions Knowledge of VMware and Hyper-V storage integration Experience supporting SQL Server, Exchange, and enterprise file services environments Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and performance analysis skills Required Qualifications: Active Secret Clearance
IASAE II or IAT III certification (SecurityX or equivalent) Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) Preferred Qualifications: Experience with storage automation and scripting using PowerShell or APIs Experience with Oracle or other enterprise database platforms Familiarity with DoD enterprise infrastructure environments Experience supporting large-scale capacity management and disaster recovery programs Compensation for the Senior Storage Design Engineer: Salary: $125,000 - $140,000 (depending on experience) Comprehensive Benefits Package including Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), PTO, and Paid Holidays This job opens for applications on 6/10/2026.
