How much do entry level analog design engineer jobs pay per year?
What does a typical day look like for an Entry Level Analog Design Engineer?
A typical day for an Entry Level Analog Design Engineer involves working on the design and simulation of analog circuits, participating in team meetings to discuss project requirements, and troubleshooting design challenges in collaboration with senior engineers. You may spend time using EDA tools to create schematics, running simulations to verify circuit performance, and conducting lab tests to validate prototypes. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, such as layout engineers and test engineers, is common to ensure designs meet both technical and production requirements. This hands-on work environment offers valuable learning opportunities and the chance to develop your skills on real-world projects from the start.
What does an Entry Level Analog Design Engineer do?
An Entry Level Analog Design Engineer is responsible for designing, simulating, and testing analog circuits used in electronic devices. They work under the guidance of senior engineers to develop components like amplifiers, power regulators, and signal processors. Their tasks often include circuit layout, PCB design, troubleshooting, and performance optimization. Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, semiconductor devices, and design tools like SPICE is essential. This role provides a foundation for growth into more advanced analog and mixed-signal design positions.
What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Entry Level Analog Design Engineer position, and why are they important?
To thrive as an Entry Level Analog Design Engineer, you need a solid understanding of analog circuit theory, semiconductor devices, and electrical engineering principles, typically supported by a bachelor's degree in electrical or electronics engineering. Familiarity with electronic design automation (EDA) tools like Cadence, SPICE simulators, and lab equipment is essential. Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and effective teamwork and communication skills will help you excel in collaborative project settings. These skills and qualities are crucial for designing robust analog circuits, debugging issues efficiently, and ensuring successful project outcomes in a dynamic engineering environment.

Imperative is seeking a Design Engineer to join our Critical Infrastructure Protection team supporting priority electronic security systems (ESS) integration within the Department of State. In this role, you will design comprehensive ESS architectures for small\-to\-medium scale facilities-from individual buildings to campus environments of 2-10 structures. You will develop complete engineering packages at progressive levels of detail (30%, 80%, 90%, and final design), incorporating physical security infrastructure including intrusion detection, CCTV, access control, emergency notification, and power distribution systems. You will also test, evaluate, and integrate a range of sensors and protective technologies as part of a larger team supporting deployment of bespoke solutions for our clients.

Responsibilities

ESS Architecture & Facility Design

Design electronic security system (ESS) architectures for single\-building and multi\-building campus facilities (2-10 structures), integrating CCTV, intrusion detection, access control, emergency notification, and perimeter security systems into cohesive, site\-specific designs.

Develop ESS engineering packages at progressive detail levels: 30% (conceptual/schematic), 80% (design development), 90% (construction documents), and final (as\-built) design-ensuring each phase meets customer requirements and compliance standards.

Produce facility security plans, riser diagrams, floor plans, site plans, and system interconnect drawings using AutoCAD and related design tools.

Coordinate ESS designs with building infrastructure systems including power distribution, telecommunications, conduit/cable pathways, and life safety systems to ensure proper integration within the built environment.

Conduct technical security assessments of existing facilities and recommend security upgrades based on identified vulnerabilities, customer requirements, and applicable standards.

Systems Integration & Testing

Develop strategies to test and verify electronic security systems and make recommendations to improve testing and operational demonstration.
