Indotronix is seeking an:
Onsite Job: Structural & Payload Design Engineer Level 4
Work Location: North Charleston, SC Shift: First, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM

Job Description:
  • Manage systems associated with interior of the airplane, along with the cargo compartments, exterior markings, and cabin safety.
  • Support customer configuration development, supplier engagement, validating and verifying design requirements, integrating business needs, and supporting the product through the production and certification processes.
  • Develop, integrate and document structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design.
  • Guide product design and verifies structural integrity by using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance.
  • Develop test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
  • Lead performance, integration and analysis of tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
  • Develop analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort.
  • Investigates emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs and innovations to meet projected requirements.
  • Communicate professionally across multiple organizations and throughout all levels of leadership.

Must Haves:
  • Bachelor of Science (or greater) from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, chemistry, or STEM degree.
  • 5+ years of experience in aerospace engineering, design criteria and engineering release processes.
  • 5+ years of experience with 3-D modeling (Autodesk Inventor, CATIA, SOLIDWORKS, SketchUp, Pro-E, 3DX, etc.) and/or equivalent combination of additional education and relevant experience.
  • Experience working within a cross-functional team.

Preferred :
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Demonstrates good problem-solving skills and critical thinking.
  • Structural analysis experience.
  • Experience with FEM analysis methods and software.
  • Working knowledge of standard business software (MS Office Suite).
  • Ability to use a variety of media to clearly convey information and ideas to a variety of audiences.
  • Demonstrated interest in continuous personal learning and development.
  • Ability to meet plan delivery deadlines when assigned.
  • Strong understanding and demonstrated experience with FAA Title 14 Part 25 and/or EASA equivalent.
  • Experience with aircraft insulation systems or linings.
  • Experience supporting production and quality investigations.
  • Experience with supplier technical coordination.
  • Knowledge of Boeing production system and First Pass Quality processes.
  • Experience with corrective action development and implementation.

Education/Experience:
  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
