ABOUT THE ROLE

Regan Baker Design is an interior design firm committed to inspiring joy and connections through the art of engagement and design. Based in San Francisco with projects in the Bay Area and beyond, RBD believes in the synthesis of personalized beauty and style, warmth, and function to shape space and elevate everyday life. We are a female-led, mid-sized, design studio with a strong passion for creative collaboration, intentional and personalized interiors, and fun, nice people.

RBD is seeking a Designer to support a Senior Designer, Design Director, and Principal on all aspects of the design process, from Initial Design Study through to Installation & Styling. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in high-end residential interior design, hospitality interior design, or interior architecture, with strong design presentation, communication, and drafting skills. Candidate will have a passion for and experience in FF&E and FF&A sourcing combined with technical acumen and strong drafting skills. A love of collaborative teamwork in a fast paced environment, and a team player mentality – no task is too big or too small – is a must.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Developing overall design for projects under the direction of a Senior Designer, Design Director, and Principal.
  • Developing design sketches, layouts and details under the direction of a Senior Designer, Design Director, and Principal.
  • Developing client presentations with InDesign, Photoshop, and Sketchup or similar software
  • Reviewing engineering and other consultant drawings under supervision to ensure they comply with design intention
  • Assisting design and implementation of custom furniture and millwork
  • Sourcing FF&E and FF&A for projects
  • Preparing client budgets and specifications for purchases as needed
  • Project managing as needed, such as task management and meeting minutes
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in Interior Design, Architecture or related field
  • 5+ years of interior design experience in residential, hospitality, or commercial design
  • Highly proficient in AutoCAD, InDesign and Photoshop
  • Strong knowledge of Construction Documentation
  • Strong knowledge of Construction Administration process and procedures a plus
  • Knowledge of design principles, aesthetics, and space planning methodology
  • Knowledge of furnishings and finishes
  • Knowledge of interior architectural detailing
  • Strong knowledge of custom furniture and millwork design
  • Familiarity with budget preparation, tracking, and management
  • Proficient rendering skills; hand sketching a plus
  • Proficient in Sketch-Up or similar software
  • Familiarity in Studio Designer a plus
  • Minimum of 3 days in San Francisco office per week
  • A love for interior design, the design process, organization & client services
