Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking a high-energy, relationship-driven Business Development Manager to develop our Retail, Restaurant, and Hospitality Architecture & Engineering practice across the East Coast. This role is focused on developing national and regional rollout clients, generating new leads, and converting pursuits into awarded work for multi-site and program-based projects.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys travel, understands branded environments, and is energized by building long-term client programs.


Key Responsibilities


Business Development & Client Growth

  • Identify, pursue, and develop new Retail, Restaurant, and Hospitality clients, including national brands, franchise groups, developers, and owners
  • Conduct market research to identify, qualify, and track targeted opportunities aligned with corporate strategy.
  • Stay informed on industry, market, and competitor trends to identify potential opportunities.

· Present the firm as a trusted partner for prototypes, rollouts, renovations, and expansions.

  • Attend industry events, brand meetings, and client visits to generate and qualify leads

Proposal & Pursuit Leadership

  • Lead RFP/RFQ responses for Retail, Restaurant, and Hospitality projects
  • Write and coordinate proposals, qualifications, and interview presentations
  • Collaborate with architecture, engineering, and operations teams to develop pursuit strategies
  • Align scope, schedule, and fee strategies with client expectations and rollout timelines

Rollout & Program Development

  • Support the development of repeat-client, multi-site programs
  • Identify opportunities to expand services across regions, brands, and portfolios
  • Assist in transitioning awarded work to project teams while maintaining client continuity

Travel & Energy Expectations

  • Frequent travel required (30%) to client offices and industry events
  • Must be comfortable with rapid turnaround pursuits and multiple active opportunities
  • High energy, strong follow-up, and a proactive mindset are essential


Qualifications


Required

  • 5+ years of business development experience in Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or related professional services
  • Direct experience in Retail, Restaurant, and/or Hospitality markets is a plus
  • Demonstrated success generating leads and securing client work
  • Strong presentation, and communication skills
  • Willingness to travel across the East Coast
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and results-oriented

Preferred

  • Existing relationships with retailers, restaurant brands, hospitality groups, franchise operators, or developers
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and pursuit tracking
