SUMMARY

The Project Manager - Highways & Structures is responsible for the overall delivery of a construction project. You will be responsible for the financial performance of the project, maintaining the project schedule, ensuring quality and safety.

PRIMARY SCOPE OF ROLE

PROJECT MANAGEMENT & EXECUTION

  • Manages projects to ensure alignment with design, budget, and schedule
  • Monitors project performance (schedule, cost, manpower, materials, equipment, safety, quality)
  • Negotiates and issues subcontracts, purchase orders, and progress payments; monitors progress
  • Oversees project closeout

STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT & COMMUNICATION

  • Interfaces with project team, subcontractors, and third parties
  • Meets with Owners and Consultants; communicates company interests and concerns effectively

LEADERSHIP, OVERSIGHT & RISK MANAGEMENT

  • Conducts site inspections to ensure safety and adherence to policies/standards
  • Provides technical expertise
  • Supervises, guides, and evaluates team members
  • Identifies and manages project risks and opportunities

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field. P. Eng or C.E.T. will be an Asset.
  • 8+ years of progressive construction experience.
  • Experience in heavy civil, road, and bridge construction projects is mandatory.
  • Experience in AFP/P3 Design-Build projects is an asset.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction industry including building materials, construction specifications, methods and procedures, construction law, and building codes. Expert understanding of OPSS is a must.
  • Estimating experience in the construction industry.
  • Experience in managing all aspects of road building, asphalt and construction projects.
  • Results-driven with an ability to deliver success in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to connect and interact with people to seek different perspectives.
  • Superb communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Demonstrate versatility and resourcefulness in overcoming business challenges.

  • Expected Base Salary: $110,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year. The actual base salary will depend on several factors such as skills, experience, qualifications, and work location.
