Job Description

AECOM's Water Business Line is actively seeking a creative, highly talented senior level Water Design Build (DB) Project Manager for immediate employment in the Northeast United States. The Project Manager will be charged with responsibility to direct the performance of Fixed Price Design Build and Progressive Design Build for Water and Wastewater Projects across the United States.

It is desirable that the DB Project Manager is capable of performing in both engineering management and construction project management capacities. As a Project Manager in the North America Design Build Group, the primary responsibilities will include managing the activities in executing a detailed multi-discipline design through AECOM’s design centers, as well as overall project management for procurement, scheduling, VE or  constructability reviews, familiarity with job cost reporting, and budget control activities through the life of the project,  including EAC analysis during on-site construction as prime  contracting entity.

Those Project managers with either alternative Delivery project management experience or Construction Management (at-risk) or prime contracting experience will be considered especially those with water/wastewater industry experience or those with experience in industrial process-oriented construction 
fields.

Job Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

Fiscal Experience – Proven project management skills to deliver projects at or under budget and on schedule

 Team Oriented This position requires the skill set to facilitate the entire team working collaboratively together to deliver the project.

 Schedule – Ability to schedule and manage complex delivery teams.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil/Environmental Engineering or a related field + 8 years of experience in delivering design build projects at risk in the water/wastewater industry and/or those projects delivered at-risk as a general contractor or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Contracting license and/or P.E. registration.
  • Proven project management experience with ability to manage a diverse team.
  • Demonstrated ability in working with local and state regulatory agencies
  • Experience in managing both engineering and construction subcontractors
  • Willing and able to travel approximately 50%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 12+ years' experience in delivering design build projects at risk in the water/wastewater industry or those projects delivered at-risk as a general contractor.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate, influence and manage risk.
  • Proven ability to conduct competitive assessments and price to win analysis.
  • Good understanding of project delivery and ability to facilitate technical discussions when needed.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Mentoring staff
