Job Description:

Parsons has a career opportunity for an amazingly talented Project Managerfor Rail and Transit Projects in the Texas region!!

Project responsibilities will focus on Program and Project Management, design, and construction management of one larger project or multiple smaller projects in the following areas:

  • Rail/Transit stations/facilities
  • Systems
  • Systems integration
  • Bus Rapid Transit
  • APM projects

In this role you will be contributing to proposals and providing project management, design coordination and leadership on our major projects. This position focuses on the West Region from Texas to California to Hawaii. You will participate in managing technical, financial and administrative aspects of on-going projects. This includes identifying new business opportunities and participating in the proposal and capture process.

We are looking for a knowledgeable project manager to join and help build our team; one that inspires loyalty and commitment and knows how to deliver leading-edge rail and transit projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads Design Services During Construction
  • Leads integration of disciplines and stakeholders to facilitate project delivery.
  • Manages scope, cost, schedule, risk and deliverables for rail and bus systems projects.
  • Leads and builds a team of designers, construction managers, and key personnel in managing projects.
  • Establishes project schedule and budget and monitor progress in meeting schedule and budget requirements.
  • Collaborates with Business Development to market and secure additional work.
  • Works with key stakeholders in establishing Project Execution Plan, Health and Safety Plan, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan and other documents as required.
  • Determine number of hours required for successful completion of project tasks.
  • Anticipates project staffing needs, determines # of required hours for successful completion of project tasks, executes workforce planning assignments with scheduled requirements.
  • Collaborates with project stakeholders to plan work; including development of means and methods, preparation of work plans, and management of subcontractors.
  • Develop pricing and negotiate changes to the scope of work with the client and subcontractors, to include changes in scope of project.
  • Anticipates areas of concern and minimizes risk by partnering with the client, architects/engineers, subcontractors, and vendors to identify and implement corrective action plans.
  • Coordination of team members and disciplines to progress project tasks and develop deliverables.
  • Provides content to monthly reports to client and responds to client issues and expectations.
  • Responsible for overall managerial and technical direction of projects or project elements and participates in strategic pursuits within the Rail Transit Sector.
  • Develop staffing plans, budget estimates, and staffing assignment schedules on each project. Manages staff forecasting reports. Ensures project performance within schedules and budgets assigned to the project.
  • Serves as owner's representative for program or project management of rail and transit projects.
  • Provides technical direction and guidance to the engineering teams, including setting priorities and schedules. Reviews technical designs and documentation to ensure compliance toward specs.
  • Recommend improvements to established procedures.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in rail, transit work experience, including experience in project management, design management, client management.
  • Rail transit experience and an understanding of rail systems.
  • Design-Build and/or Progressive Design Build project experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations is required.
  • Must also possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and the capabilities and efficiencies of specific engineering software for use in completing engineering assignments.
