                                                                                                        Daytime Landscaping / Maintenance Associate  Job Summary:

Assess and address outdoor maintenance and grounds keeping, and safety issues, including preventive maintenance.  Work in collaboration with supervisor, maintenance associate, landscaping associate, and sub-contractors

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Daily parking lot clean-up PCP / Hospice
  • Lawn Care, mowing, edging, weeding PCP/Hospice
  • Replacing plants and trees
  • Trimming, pruning, hedging of plants/trees/bushes
  • Keep all pathways clear and safe
  • Move equipment and supplies to designated area
  • Upkeep of outside area (trash pick-up)
  • Upkeep / preventive maintenance on maintenance equipment
  • Monitoring, scheduling, and maintenance of irrigation system. Including filter system.
  • Snow removal, ice melt, sweeping
  • Health and safety monitoring/repairs
  • Clean gutters
  • Assist the Maintenance Associate Sr. where needed
  • Assist with building maintenance. Including, but not limited to, painting, light carpentry, plumbing, and monitoring and repair of the heating system
  • Design and renovation of landscape areas
  • Scheduling and application of fertilizer and pesticide programs
  • Make annual purchasing recommendations for Maintenance Equipment
  • Design, manufacture, and installation of holiday decorations
  • Maintenance of water features and fountains
  • Wildlife management
  • Installation, and maintenance, of recreational facilities
  • Maintain positive, and helpful, relations with patients
  • Coverage for Inside Maintenance Position when on Vacation or Sick. This would include HVAC, Light Electrical, Light Plumbing, Boiler Maintenance, Maintenance on HSK Equipment, Maintenance on Vaccine Refrigerators & Freezers.
  • Aid Janitorial / Housekeeping Staff as needed
  • Assist with Snow Removal as needed.
  • Assist with Drywall and Painting as needed
  • Monthly Elevator Test
  • Fire Alarm Testing as needed
  • Annual Fire Extinguisher / Sprinkler Test
  • Parking Lot Maintenance as needed
  • Moving Workstations / Exam Tables etc.                                                                                                                                               

 Experience:

Some knowledge of landscaping; detail oriented; good work ethics and good communication skills; able to work well with supervisor, co-workers; able to be self-motivated, work well with minimal supervision and obtain excellent time management skills. Basic computer skills; i.e. Microsoft Office Word, Excel.

Education Requirements:

Must have education or be willing to be trained in all aspects of the position.  Must know OSHA Standards Regulations in regard to safety, some knowledge of outside plants and irrigation systems

Working Conditions:

Works (Sun – Thursday) 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Works on exterior of the physical plant; the schedule varies.  Some sitting, crawling, bending, walking, working on a ladder and lifting
