Job description

As a Senior Design Engineer, you will be part of a team responsible for the

conceptualization and implementation of product improvements for existing product lines.

 In addition to improving current product lines, new product development is also within the scope of the

department. No sponsorship. No F1 visas of any kind.

Responsibilities:

â–ª Use Autodesk Inventor 3D modeling software to design the parts and assemblies of

the products produced at MAS with Autodesk Inventor.

â–ª Use Autodesk Inventor to create assembly drawings necessary to communicate how

products must be assembled.

â–ª Create part drawings to which clearly communicate the requirements to our

suppliers. Ensure part drawings result in economical and functional results.

â–ª Perform calculations necessary to ensure the mechanical and electrical robustness

of the product.

â–ª Assist in creating test plans for the validation of product.

â–ª Maintain clear and concise documentation related to projects which are assigned to

you.

â–ª Improve product documentation and drawings to ensure the methods for assembly

can be clearly communicated to assemblers.

â–ª Execute design for manufacturing methodology during the design stages to support

the assembly process.

â–ª Collaborate with the field service and quality department to evaluate design

improvement opportunities based on customer feedback. Execute the design tasks

necessary to facilitate continuous improvement.

â–ª Assist in designating the critical to quality parts which need to be validated prior to

acceptance from suppliers.

â–ª Participate in internal, external, and customer audits as necessary.

â–ª Develop test criteria for use by the test team when applicable.

â–ª Support cost reduction initiatives through the implementation of design changes as

appropriate.

â–ª Assist in coordinating design changes with the purchasing department to prevent the

disruption of the production department.

Position Requirements

â–ª Preferred, B.S. Mechanical Engineering. Other engineering degrees may be

acceptable depending on relevant design experience.

â–ª Preferred, Experience with transmission or distribution equipment.

▪ 3 or more years’ experience with product design utilizing 3D modeling software such

as Autodesk Inventor or others

â–ª Demonstrates the ability to work effectively within a team environment.

â–ª Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, especially excel.

â–ª Enterprise Resource Planning system experience, preferably SAP

â–ª Able to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and work under pressure.

â–ª Travel up to 10% of the time domestically or internationally
