Job description

V3 Companies, a multidisciplinary AEC firm, is seeking a Project Engineer in our Woodridge, IL office, where you will contribute to career-defining projects that reimagine our built and natural world. 

You'll change the shape of your community by creating impact that lasts. And, as part of our Floodplains and Stormwater Management team, you will collaborate with 450+ designers, engineers, and scientists to make meaningful, effective change across North America.

Here's what you'll do:

  • Perform civil design and technical analysis related to floodplain and floodway studies, stormwater management, and drainage design.
  • Assist with the preparation of engineering reports, drainage studies, and watershed analyses.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other design disciplines to support project delivery.
  • Review plans and data for accuracy, constructability, and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Mentor or provide technical guidance to junior designers as appropriate to experience level.


We're looking for:

  • 6-10 years of related experience, ideally focused on floodplain, stormwater, or water resources projects.
  • Working knowledge of ArcGIS and Civil 3D.
  • Strong client service orientation.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
