About the Role
Blue Line Drywall & Insulation is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to join our growing team in North Brunswick, NJ. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 1-2 years of construction experience who is looking to build a long-term career in commercial construction.
Working alongside experienced Project Managers and Estimators, you'll play an integral role in supporting projects from preconstruction through closeout. You'll gain hands-on experience managing project documentation, coordinating subcontractors, reviewing plans and specifications, tracking schedules and budgets, and helping ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

Responsibilities
  • Assist Project Managers with the planning, coordination, and execution of commercial construction projects.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and project documents.
  • Support estimating and preconstruction efforts by reviewing takeoffs, pricing, and bid documents.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders, subcontracts, and project documentation.
  • Track project budgets, schedules, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and closeout documents.
  • Monitor project progress and communicate potential schedule or budget impacts.
  • Maintain accurate project records and ensure documentation is up to date.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Attend project meetings and visit job sites as needed.
  • Work closely with Business Development, Estimating, and Operations to support new and ongoing projects.
Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of experience in construction, project management, estimating, or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Basic understanding of commercial construction methods and materials.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and grow.
  • Professional attitude with strong interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Experience with estimating software such as PlanSwift.
  • Familiarity with Procore or other construction management software is a plus.
  • Experience with ERP or CRM systems is a plus.
