  • Design, implement, and maintain backup, recovery, disaster recovery, replication, resilience, and high availability solutions that protect critical business data.

  • Implement database security controls including role-based access control (RBAC), authentication, authorization, encryption, auditing, dynamic data masking, row- and column-level security, least-privilege access, and protection of sensitive data including PHI.

  • Ensure database availability, operational reliability, scalability, and performance through proactive monitoring, maintenance, capacity planning, and continuous performance management.

  • Manage database lifecycle activities including data retention, archival, restoration, purge, and storage optimization while meeting business, regulatory, and security requirements.

  • Partner with application developers, data engineers, analytics teams, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and business stakeholders to design efficient database solutions, optimize workloads, and support application releases.

  • Administer AWS database services including Amazon RDS, Amazon Aurora, and Amazon Redshift, including provisioning, configuration, monitoring, security, backup, scaling, and performance optimization.

  • Support database migration, modernization, cloud adoption, integration, and consolidation initiatives across on-premises and cloud environments.

  • Troubleshoot complex database issues, perform root cause analysis, and resolve production incidents to minimize business disruption.

  • Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline database provisioning, monitoring, maintenance, backup validation, security validation, and operational processes.

  • Maintain database documentation, operational standards, procedures, and best practices.

  • Ensure compliance with organizational data governance standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Utilize AI-powered tools responsibly to improve operational efficiency, automate routine work, enhance solution quality, and support informed decision-making in alignment with organizational standards.

  • Participate in after-hours support and scheduled maintenance activities as needed.

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
