Job description

Dermpath Laboratory Histologist

The Mohs Histotechnician supports the Mohs surgical team by preparing high-quality histologic specimens for immediate microscopic evaluation by the Mohs Surgeon. This role involves processing tissue stages and layers using the Mohs technique, including embedding, freezing, cutting, staining, and slide preparation in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment. The Histotechnician ensures accurate specimen handling, maintains the functionality and cleanliness of the Mohs laboratory, and assists with patient care activities such as coordinating patient flow, supporting the surgeon during procedures, and preparing patients for treatment. The position requires excellent technical precision, sterile-field support, and effective communication to ensure positive clinical outcomes and a seamless patient experience.

Qualifications:

  • Associated Degree - Science
  • License/Registrations - Issued by Florida or Compact State
  • Registered Nurse Clinical Lab Technologist
  • Two (2) years experience in an ambulatory care clinic and/or laboratory
  • Prior experience processing tissue for a Mohs surgeon
