Job description

Position Summary
To assist physicians, nurses, and patients by providing ambulatory medical care services in a Dermatology outpatient clinic setting. This role supports general, cosmetic, and surgical dermatology, including Mohs procedures, and is responsible for clinic patient flow, informing physicians of patients' arrival and room assignment, and supporting dermatology-specific examinations and procedures.
We are specifically seeking a Cosmetic Dermatology and Mohs/Surgical Medical Assistant with hands-on experience in procedural support, sterile technique, laser and energy-based device setup, post-operative care, patient education, and high-quality service delivery in an aesthetic clinical environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Assist in patient intake and preparation for general dermatology and cosmetic procedures while maintaining efficient patient flow.
    โ€ข Support laser and energy-based treatments (hair removal, resurfacing, vascular, tightening procedures) including device setup, adherence to safety protocols, and post-procedure care. Training will be provided with expectation of consistent independent performance once competency is established.
    โ€ข Assist physicians during examinations and procedures including biopsies, excisions, cosmetic injections (if applicable), and Mohs surgical stages.
    โ€ข Prepare and maintain sterile fields and surgical instruments in accordance with clinical standards.
    โ€ข Obtain and document vital signs including height, weight, blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, and pulse oximetry as indicated.
    โ€ข Support general dermatology tasks including scribing, specimen preparation, wound care, and assisting with excisions and closures.
    โ€ข Educate patients on skincare routines, treatment expectations, and post-care instructions following physician guidance and training.
    โ€ข Perform clinical photography and maintain accurate before/after documentation per department protocol.
    โ€ข Manage inventory of skincare products, consumables, surgical supplies, and device materials in coordination with the Clinical Manager.
    โ€ข Provide warm, efficient, high-quality customer service throughout the patient experience.
    โ€ข Administer medications per department guidelines after demonstrated competency and maintain dosage calculation accuracy as required.
