About the Job

The Department of Dermatology, University of Minnesota Medical School, and University of Minnesota Physicians are seeking a Medical Dermatologist to join our dermatology practice in Minneapolis–Saint Paul. The position is full‑time and will earn a rank on the department’s Academic Track commensurate with experience.

Practice Details
  • Clinical practice of general dermatology and one dermatology subspecialty (e.g., pediatrics, cosmetic dermatology, or another subspecialty).
  • Opportunity to develop new practice sites in collaboration with the core University site.
  • Experience in clinical research, education, medical dermatology, dermatoepidemiology, or other areas related to dermatological practice and education is highly desired.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an ACGME accredited Dermatology residency or Internal Medicine/Dermatology residency.
  • Board eligible or board certified in Dermatology.
  • Licensed or eligible to obtain licensure from the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain DEA certification in Minnesota.
  • Excellence in written and verbal communication.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Detail oriented, self‑motivated, and a creative problem‑solver.
  • Education‑focused and willing to lead clinical initiatives.
About the Department

The Department of Dermatology is committed to excellent patient care, investigative research, and training future dermatologists. It trains 3 fellows (Dermatologic Surgery, Pediatric Dermatology, Clinical Research) and 22 residents (10 in Medical Dermatology, 12 in Categorical) annually. The department offers world‑renowned clinical programs and pioneering clinical trials.

Pay and Benefits

Salary is a dual arrangement between the University of Minnesota and University of Minnesota Physicians, with a base salary at the University starting at $58,000 and a total annual compensation in the range of $417,523. Benefits include generous time off, CME allowance, malpractice insurance with tail coverage, retirement contributions, relocation assistance, and a comprehensive benefits package covering medical, dental, pharmacy, HSA, disability, life insurance, and employee wellness programs.
