Job description

We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst, Derivatives SME on a contract basis to help support our customerโ€™s business needs. This role is (Onsite 4 days/week in the office) Houston, TX Or Atlanta, GA.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with business stakeholders and technology teams to ensure requirements are understood and translated into effective support solutions.
  • Support testing activities, including test-case development, UAT coordination, and issue resolution.
  • Serve as the primary SME for QIS Swaps and other complex/esoteric derivative products, providing end-to-end expertise across trade booking, lifecycle event management, valuations, collateral, settlements, reconciliations, and operational support.
  • Partner with Portfolio Managers, Trading, Operations, Technology, Fund Accounting, Custodians, Brokers, and external vendors to support business growth, resolve operational issues, and ensure accurate and scalable processing of complex derivative transactions.
  • Documentation, and implementation of business requirements, operating model enhancements, workflow improvements, and platform initiatives to support increasing QIS Swap volumes and evolving product capabilities.
  • Act as an escalation point for risk-sensitive lifecycle events, trade exceptions, margin and collateral issues, valuation inquiries, and reporting impacts, while driving process controls, operational readiness, and continuous improvement across the derivatives support model.
Qualifications
  • 10-15+ years of experience in financial services.
  • 5-7+ years of experience in derivatives and derivatives lifecycles concepts/ support.
  • Strong understanding of transaction management, trade support, derivative lifecycle, collateral management, and margin processes.
  • Ability to bridge business and technology teams and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.
Systems & Tools
  • Experience with one or more of the following platforms is preferred:
  • Aladdin, Charles River, FCM Platforms, OTC industry tech, SSB ALPHA, MS Suite
Success Criteria
  • High-quality business and functional support.
  • Identification and resolution of process gaps and implementation issues.
  • Effective coordination between business, operations, technology, and vendors.
