LOCATION, SALARY, AND CONTACT INFORMATION:
Location: Department of Juvenile Justice, Office of Probation and Community Intervention, Statewide. This position requires travel.Â
Starting Salary: The hourly rate is approximately $45/hour if the successful candidate elects family health insurance coverage, $52/hour if individual-only coverage is elected, and $58/hour if insurance is waived. These hourly rates translate to approximately $94,000 per year and $108,000 per year, and $120,000 per year respectively. These numbers are subject to change slightly if the employer contribution to state health insurance changes.

Position Overview
Job Title: Law Enforcement Liaison / Community Partnership Coordinator
We are seeking a detail-oriented professional with a strong law enforcement background to join our probation team. This dedicated professional will be responsible for bridging the gap between our agency and key criminal justice agencies to implement a focused-deterrence strategy designed to reduce firearm re-offending among the juvenile population. As the coordinator you will be responsible for building and growing positive, trusting relationships with local law enforcement, courts, and other key agencies and stakeholders. This is not a law enforcement role. You will not carry a badge, make arrests, or enforce laws. Instead, you will use your inside knowledge of the justice system to educate partners, foster collaboration, and support our organizational goals. This position will require travel throught
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build strong ties with police departments, sheriff offices, the judiciary, and other stakeholders.
- Deliver focused deterrence training to agency staff and various community leaders including law enforcement and judicial partners.
- Meet regularly with community leaders and public safety officials.
- Explain our program to law enforcement and answer their questions.
- Plan and lead outreach events and joint meetings.
- Help solve communication problems between our team and outside agencies.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document work flow and other activities relating to the improvement of operations.
- Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other written materials.
- Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, policies and procedures relating to operations.
- Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- High ethical standards with the ability to handle sensitive, confidential information with discretion.
- Strong computer skills and comfort with Microsoft Office Suite including creating PowerPoint presentations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven work experience in law enforcement, parole, probation, or the court system.
- Minimum of 3 years of active law enforcement, or criminal justice experience.
- Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, or a related field is preferred (equivalent work experience accepted).
