Overview

The Fort Lauderdale, FL office of Lewis Brisbois, a full-service AmLaw 100 firm, is seeking a Practice Group Assistant for the Immigration group with a minimum of one (1) year legal experience, preferably in a law firm environment.  The essential functions of this position include assisting the Secretaries with opening new matters, assisting with calendaring and docketing duties, running conflicts, and other administrative duties as assigned by Secretaries and Attorneys.

Responsibilities

Job Specifications:

  • Experience handling client intake, closing matters, preparation of trial and deposition notebooks
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one (1) year of legal experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities
  • Ability to maintain and handle confidential information
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
