Job description

Position Summary:

The Teller will be responsible for the paying, receiving, and processing of deposits, withdrawals, and payment transactions for customers at the office assigned. The individual will provide prompt, efficient, and accurate customer service functions, representing the bank in a courteous, professional, and confidential manner. The Teller will also perform other business development, clerical, and report preparation functions as may be assigned.

Essential Functions:

  • Will meet the required standards for the processing of transactions for commercial and retail accounts that are processed in the assigned location, including but not limited to, all demand deposit accounts, all savings accounts and certificates, and all related loan processing. This may also include all transactions related to cashiers checks and U.S. savings bonds;
  • Will conduct all of the transactions assigned according to security and operational guidelines, including, but not limited to, endorsements, customer identification procedures, checking cashing limits, night deposit and bank-by-mail activity, and money handling activity including all balancing and settlement procedures.
  • Will comply with all bank policies, procedures, and guidelines, as well as any regulatory guidelines pertaining to the duties of a teller;
  • Will be knowledgeable about the bank and the products and services provided; this includes knowledge of where the various products and services can be obtained;
  • Will assure a high level of customer satisfaction by being knowledgeable of the bank’s systems and utilizing any/all available resources;
  • Will promote bank products and services by identifying needs and communicating opportunities to customers and referring to the appropriate product specialist;
  • Will be proactive in initiating activities to strengthen customer relationships, build a positive community image, and foster teamwork;
  • Will be responsible for individual professional development

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Will be a proactive participant in marketing, sales campaigns, business development, and relationship building efforts that relate to the assigned location or the bank as a whole
  • Will be responsible for full compliance with all policies, procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Will maintain a strict level of confidentiality
  • Will perform various other duties as may be assigned

Education and Experience:

Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or Equivalent
