Job description

ROLE
The Deposit Operations Specialist is responsible for a wide variety of duties in the Deposit Operations Department. This position will perform various daily tasks related to the day-to-day operations of the bank, including professional administrative support and technical service. The Deposit Operations Specialist is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while supporting and promoting the bank's products and services.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
This position is responsible for the following functions:
โ€ข Implement new products and services by providing necessary training and support materials
โ€ข Review inbound/outbound documents and account maintenance items to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and bank standard practices
โ€ข Process daily Certificate of Deposit Notices, including renewals, advance renewals, and advance interest
โ€ข Document standard operating procedures to ensure consistency in processes and review current processes to ensure effectiveness and efficiency
โ€ข Update the system and communicate deposit rates to branches
โ€ข Process returned mail and update address changes
โ€ข Support frontline deposit staff through multiple channels
โ€ข Review, balance, and reconcile specific internal GL accounts and/or deposit accounts
โ€ข Create and update CSR and Teller files
โ€ข Participate in continuing education to stay up to date on rules and regulations, as well as educate others
โ€ข Process and record charge-off deposit accounts
Various other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: High School Diploma or equivalent required
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Complete knowledge of Teller, CSR, and Frontline Manager positions, as well as best practices for deposit services; working knowledge of deposit systems, including iCore, Proof 21, and Account Origination; knowledge of effective training strategies with regards to design and implementation;
full understanding of all PBT policies and procedures related to bank's core function; general knowledge of legal requirements related to deposit practices
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 2+ years customer service experience required
2+ years banking experience preferred
SKILLS/ABILITIES: Manage multiple responsibilities with strict deadlines, strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, applied leadership, good independent judgment, project management, strong awareness of
effective training strategies, effective collaboration and ability to function well within a team setting, self-motivation, self-management, ability to consistently follow through on tasks, problem-solving, organized, analytical, positive attitude, interpersonal skills, time management, computer literacy, strong ability to multi-task, and proficiency with large
server-based application and Microsoft Office products
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION
TALKING: Ability to speak effectively and communicate clearly
AVERAGE HEARING: Ability to hear average conversations at a standard level in an office environment around other customers and bank personnel
REPETITIVE MOTION: The employee is regularly required to type throughout the day
FINGER DEXTERITY: The employee is regularly required to use their hands to type and maneuver a mouse
AVERAGE VISION: Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus with 20/20 vision (with or without the assistance of eyeglasses/contacts)
PHYSICAL STRENGTH: The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds (unassisted) as well as stand, sit, bend, kneel, squat, and walk for long periods of time
WORKING CONDITIONS
General professional office environment with climate control. Adequate lighting. Occasional travel to other bank locations. Occasional additional hours outside of regular bank service hours to complete tasks.
