Job description

Performs a variety of duties in support of the deposit accounts function ensuring compliance with all established policies, procedures and federal and state banking regulations.


ESSENTIAL DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process customer transactions in a timely and accurate manner, reviews suspense reports for transaction activity, and coordinates with the main office of international negotiations to insure that daily, weekly and monthly balancing is achieved.
  • Generate reports (monthly/weekly) that are an important tool for the area in order to provide information to different areas and Head Office.
  • Report to the main office any errors, transactions not booked, transactions that caused overdrafts, incorrect parameters, or any unusual circumstances on the process of time deposits.
  • Post Equation-related debit and credit transactions, and reviews journals and ensures that posted transactions are correct, reversing any incorrect information.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties related to new accounts, ensuring that the tasks are carried out on a timely and accurate manner.
  • Process checks in accordance with the Federal Reserve Bank and if needed escalates potential fraud to the appropriate department(s).
  • Serve as the back for the contingency site in case any member is unable to participate.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally both orally and in writing to others
  • Back up Representative to Operations Supervisor.
  • Keep control of follow ups, such account status, and proper daily balancing with Head Office
  • File and keep the entire daily work and documents in the designated places, on time and at hand.
  • Assist with special projects as needed
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by company management.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • General PC, software proficiency and strong skills in Excel are necessary.
  • Excellent verbal, written and bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills and techniques.
  • Basic knowledge of math and accounting principles.
  • Excellent customer service and organizational skills.
  • Knowledgeable in check processing, along with banking rules and regulations.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Banking experience required.
  • Associate Degree or equivalency.


PERSONALRESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Appropriate, timely, accurate and complete processing of new deposit accounts and other banking support functions as assigned.
  • Analytical thinking and ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and handle confidential matters.
  • Maintain flexibility and demonstrating the ability to proactively work under a broad set of circumstances and situations.
  • Exhibit exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Works to proactively resolve new deposit account issues and problems.
  • Takes appropriate action to ensure proper compliance with established bank and deposit account handling procedures.
  • Refer non-routine and unusual problems and issues to department management.
  • Special requirements (established by supervisor) willing to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as requested by Deposit Accounts AVP.
  • Ability to work as a positive member of the team and to effectively communicate with others
