The Allianceworks in partnership with federal, state, and local stakeholders including policymakers, serviceproviders, researchers, advocates, and people with lived experience-to promote data-driven,evidence-based, and racially equitable solutions to homelessness. What We Are Looking For

The Operations Associate contributes to the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the Alliance by supporting day-to-day operations and cross-functional initiatives. Working closely with members of the Operations Team, the Associate provides administrative, logistical, and programmatic support across a variety of areas-including finance, development, and event planning-to help ensure smooth internal processes and the successful execution of organizational goals.


In this role, the Associate brings strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative spirit. The position offers an opportunity to deepen experience in nonprofit operations while supporting a mission-driven organization working to solve homelessness nationwide. The Operations Associate is an integral part of a supportive, high-performing team and plays a key role in maintaining the infrastructure that enables the Alliance's work to succeed.


What You Will Do

The Operations Associate contributes to the effectiveness and efficiency of the Alliance by supporting day-to-day operations and cross-functional initiatives. Working closely with members of the Operations Team, the Associate provides administrative, financial, fundraising, and event management support to help ensure smooth organizational operations.

Finance Support (40%)

  • Provide bookkeeping support to the finance office.
  • Prepare checks for deposit.
  • Enter invoices into the online bill pay system.
  • Assist with credit card reconciliations.
  • Complete semi-monthly PayPal and Stripe reconciliations.
  • Complete bi-annual conference reconciliations.
  • Assist with audit preparation.

Development Support (25%)

  • Assist the President & COO and Development Manager in implementing the Alliance's individual donor strategy.
  • Process online and mailed contributions.
  • Prepare and distribute donor acknowledgement and thank-you letters.
  • Maintain donor database records.
  • Monitor and support the Development inbox.

Event Management Support (15%)

  • Assist in the administration of registration for the Alliance's annual conferences and events.
  • Track and record conference payments.
  • Follow up with registrants regarding outstanding payments.
  • Assist with onsite conference registration and event logistics.
  • Process speaker reimbursements and cancellation refunds.

Operations Support (20%)

  • Support the management of office systems and operational procedures.
  • Assist with maintaining office equipment, facilities, and supplies.
  • Serve as a liaison with IT and telecommunications vendors.
  • Perform basic desktop troubleshooting and coordinate technical support requests.
  • Assist in maintaining organizational databases and systems.
  • Manage and track incoming communications from external stakeholders.
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Welcome office visitors and answer telephone inquiries.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience in an office, administrative, nonprofit, or related environment.
